Imran castigates PM Shehbaz for ‘destroying economy’ | The Express Tribune

Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has lambasted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the dire economic situation of the country and urged the government to bring back the \”looted money\” stashed abroad. Khan expressed confidence that his party would come into power, and vowed to hold the incumbent rulers accountable when they do. He criticised the government\’s austerity measures and said that the economic situation would not improve with the government\’s cosmetic measures. He also held the rulers and their facilitators responsible for all the wrongdoings in the country, including inflation, a failing economy, and low inflow of remittances. Khan criticised the government\’s agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and said that the prime minister was asking people for sacrifices, he should rather render sacrifices. He also spoke about the upcoming elections and criticised Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja\’s role in not issuing the schedule for the polls.
