Pancreatic cancer is hard to treat and often diagnosed too late. Scientists are studying how a protein called RBFOX2 affects this type of cancer. They found that RBFOX2 is lower in pancreatic cancer cells that have spread. When RBFOX2 is absent, cancer cells can move, spread, and grow faster. This study shows that alternative RNA splicing is important in the development of pancreatic cancer. More research is needed to understand how RBFOX2 works and why it’s important.
