Pakistani batter Babar Azam has dropped from 6th to 8th place in the ICC Test rankings due to his poor performance in the Australia series. He struggled against the Australian bowling attack and only managed 126 runs. In contrast, Virat Kohli from India moved up to 6th place in the rankings after a strong performance in South Africa.
Mohammad Rizwan’s 88-run innings in the Sydney Test helped him move up 10 spots to 17th place, while Saud Shakeel moved down to 14th place. Marnus Labuschagne also rose three positions in the rankings.
Kane Williamson, Joe Root, and Steve Smith continue to hold the top rankings for batters. In the bowling department, Aamer Jamal’s six-wicket haul in the Sydney Test helped him move up 12 spots to 45th place. Shaheen Afridi secured the 12th position for Pakistani bowlers, and Ravichandran Ashwin maintained his dominance at the top of the bowling rankings.
Overall, there have been significant changes in the ICC Test rankings for both batters and bowlers, with some players moving up and others moving down based on their recent performances.
