The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) has told the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to make sure there is no secret advertising during the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) tournament. The tournament will take place from Feb 13 to March 18. The ministry has instructed the PCB to go ahead with the bidding process for media rights for the PSL, but not for any other events. The IPC Ministry has also instructed the PCB to make sure that there is transparency in the bidding process. The government has a zero-tolerance policy for any secret advertising. The ministry has reminded the PCB about the State Bank of Pakistan’s concerns about certain brands involved in online betting and urged the PCB not to allow these brands to operate in Pakistan. The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has also advised media outlets and sports organizations to stop promoting these brands and to end any existing agreements with them. This information was provided during a question-hour session in the Senate.
