An anti-terrorism court in Lahore extended the bail of Asad Umar and Imran Khan’s sisters in cases related to May 9 riots. Umar was granted bail in one case but denied in another for not appearing in court. The cases include attacks on Jinnah House, Askari Tower, torching of PML-N offices, and violence during Imran Khan’s arrest. Imran’s sisters appeared before the joint investigation team in August. The court instructed all suspects to appear before the JIT and granted bail until January 9. Umar’s bail was rejected in the Askari Tower attack case. Last month, Umar resigned from PTI and quit politics.
