The Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) reported a 34% increase in anti-state violence in Pakistan last month. There were a total of 63 militant attacks, resulting in 83 fatalities and 89 injuries. Pakistani security forces responded by eliminating 59 militants and apprehending 18 others. The data for the first eleven months of 2023 reflects a significant escalation in militant attacks, fatalities, and injuries compared to the same period in 2022. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) was the most affected province, with 51 attacks and the highest number of fatalities and injuries. Balochistan recorded nine attacks, resulting in 18 fatalities, and Sindh and Punjab experienced minor-level and high-profile attacks, respectively. This data highlights the ongoing challenge of militant activities and the impact on security forces and civilians in Pakistan.
