South Korean stocks dropped more than 1% on Friday due to losses in US companies like Nvidia and Tesla. The local currency also fell against the US dollar. Trading volume was moderate, with more losers than winners. Institutions and foreigners led the decline, while individuals made net purchases. This was due to a drop in Tesla and Nvidia, which affected local chip and battery shares. Battery and chemical companies were among the biggest losers, while defense companies performed well. The local currency ended at 1,305.8 won against the greenback, down 15.8 won from the previous session’s close.
