In Lahore, PTI leader Akmal Khan Bari strongly reacted to the interior minister’s statement. He said caretaker governments were supposed to hold free and fair elections, but instead they were creating fake cases against PTI and harassing its leaders and workers. He accused the caretakers of trying to impose a corrupt person on Pakistan and interfering in political affairs. He urged them to focus on their duty of holding fair elections. Bari also criticized the caretaker government for instituting a case against PTI leader Omar Ayub Khan for attending his father’s funeral and for harassing PTI members who protested in favor of Palestine. He called on the caretakers to let people decide by contesting in the political arena with their manifesto. He accused them of favoring Imran Khan’s opponents and said they should focus on their job of ensuring fair elections.
