The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Balochistan’s Kech district killed four terrorists during a shootout. The terrorists engaged in gunfire with the security forces and tried to flee but four were killed and others escaped. The security forces also recovered weapons during the operation. The bodies of the terrorists were sent for legal formalities. The CTD and other law enforcement agencies have been actively engaged in locating and eradicating terrorist elements in Balochistan. There has been an increase in terror activities, especially in KP and Balochistan, after the TTP ended its ceasefire with the government. In a separate incident, eight people, including security personnel, were killed in blasts in North Waziristan, South Waziristan, and Bajaur. The number of militant attacks in August was the highest in almost nine years according to data compiled by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS).
