Samsung Group affiliates launched a new program to help children of multicultural families and older people. The program includes a sports class for multicultural children and a digital education academy for seniors. The companies are working with the government and organizations to support the disadvantaged. The goal is to help children from multicultural families improve their health and social skills, and to assist seniors in better using digital technology. The effort is in response to the increasing number of youth from multicultural families in Korea and the difficulties they face. The program was developed from an idea of a Samsung employee and is being supported by various government officials and partner NGOs. The affiliates involved in the program are Cheil Worldwide, S1, Samsung Biologics, Samsung Bioepis, Hotel Shilla, Samsung Welstory, Samsung Medical Center, Kangbuk Samsung Hospital, and Samsung Global Research.
