Former President Asif Ali Zardari is confident that the Election Commission of Pakistan will hold free and fair elections on February 8, 2024. He stated the PPP is fully prepared for elections and believes the environment in the country is favorable for polls. Zardari had a meeting with the UK High Commissioner to discuss issues and assure her of the PPP’s confidence about the upcoming elections. The PPP has expressed concerns about a level playing field leading up to the elections. Despite these concerns, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari stated his party is accustomed to overcoming unfair political challenges. There is also discussion about seat adjustments and deals with other contestants, as well as the political landscape of south Punjab concerning the upcoming polls. The PPP has repeatedly emphasized the lack of a level playing field but remains confident in its ability to navigate the challenges.
