The Co-op is taking steps to stop people from stealing things from their stores. They are using “risers” at the front of shelves to make it difficult to reach products. They also have security cameras, panic buttons, Smartwater, GPS-tracked security cases, body-cams, and communication headsets. They are also using undercover security guards. The Co-op is also thinking about putting in secure kiosks and digital doors. This would mean that customers couldn’t get to expensive items unless a staff member let them into a special area.
