The new superhero film ‘The Marvels’ had the lowest opening weekend ticket sales for a movie in Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, making only $47 million in North America. This is a huge drop compared to its prequel, ‘Captain Marvel,’ and it will be difficult for the movie to earn back its $220 million production cost. Other movies in the top 5 for the weekend include ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s,’ ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,’ ‘Priscilla,’ and ‘Killers of the Flower Moon.’ The rest of the top 10 are ‘The Holdovers,’ ‘Journey to Bethlehem,’ ‘Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie,’ ‘Radical,’ and ‘The Exorcist: Believer.’
