The Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested five suspected terrorists from banned groups in different cities of the province. They conducted 179 intelligence-based operations and arrested five alleged terrorists. The suspects belonged to Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and Lashkar-i-Jhangvi. Explosives, grenades, and other dangerous items were recovered from them. The CTD alleged they were planning to sabotage and target important installations. The suspects have been shifted to an unknown location. The CTD is determined to put anti-state elements behind bars. This week alone, 769 combing operations were conducted, resulting in the arrest of 82 suspects. In August, 13 alleged terrorists, including “key Daesh commanders,” were also arrested by the CTD.
