Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mohammad Azam Khan, passed away at the age of 89. He was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit after falling ill the previous day. Khan had discussed plans to visit a university just the day before his passing. He had taken oath as the KP chief minister in January of the same year. His passing has automatically dissolved the provincial cabinet in KP. The Governor will now take charge of the provincial affairs until a new chief minister is elected. Condolences poured in from various political figures and leaders, expressing their grief and remembering Khan as a gentleman. More updates are expected to follow.
