Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar called for Israel to be held responsible for its aggression in Gaza. He spoke at the 16th Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Summit in Uzbekistan. He urged ECO member states to support a ceasefire in Gaza and provide humanitarian aid. He also pledged to address global issues like Islamophobia and climate change with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.

During his visit, PM Kakar met with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to discuss the need for a “Strategic Partnership Agreement” to promote regional connectivity. They also talked about the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan railway project and humanitarian issues in Gaza. PM Kakar also met with ECO Secretary-General Khusrav Noziri to review trade connectivity and economic cooperation within the organisation.

The Prime Minister’s visit also included attending a reception for summit leaders and a visit to the shrine of Imam Bukhari in Samarkand. Discussions during the visit also included the situation in occupied Kashmir and the Middle East.

The Prime Minister’s actions signal his commitment to addressing international issues and strengthening ties with other countries.
