The Lahore Zoo will be closed for three months starting from November 7th for renovation and improvement. The Punjab government is committed to improving the zoo and zoo safari. They will introduce new animals and facilities based on the direction of Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The revamp project will cost Rs1.836 billion and will include extending the parking area and introducing a computerized and app-based parking system using artificial intelligence. Glass enclosures will be built for leopards, lions, and tigers, allowing visitors to step inside. There will also be a modern food court and a hologram zoo. Other improvements include constructing a vet hospital, upgrading enclosures for large mammals, and redesigning the monkey house. The project will also include the construction of an auditorium and the renovation of office buildings. As part of the revamp, new animals will also be purchased, such as pandas, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, and penguins. During the renovation period, the animals will be relocated to different breeding facilities in Punjab. The project also includes the construction of tiger houses, a wildlife rehabilitation center, and the development of thematic areas. A new high-tech fish aquarium will also be built.
