The Pakistan Army has foiled a terrorist attack on the Mianwali Training Air Base of the Pakistan Air Force. In a clearance operation, nine terrorists were killed. This operation comes after several recent incidents that resulted in the martyrdom of 17 soldiers. These incidents include a militant attack in Gwadar, a bomb explosion in Dera Ismail Khan, a security operation in KP’s Lakki Marwat, and a remote-controlled blast in Dl Khan. The Inter-Services Public Relations confirmed the successful foiling of the attack on the air base and the elimination of all nine terrorists. They also stated that no damage was done to any of the PAF’s operational assets. The Tehreek-i-Jihad Pakistan (TJP), an affiliate of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the attack. The President and the Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed their condemnation of the attack and their support for the armed forces. The interim interior minister described the recent wave of terror as a conspiracy to destabilize Pakistan, and vowed that all civil and military institutions will unite to combat terrorism. Various political figures, including former premier Shehbaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari, also condemned the attack and praised the security forces for their bravery.
