Asad Qaiser, a former National Assembly speaker and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader, has been arrested in Islamabad. The arrest was made during a joint raid by the Anti-Corruption Establishment and the capital police. The Anti-Corruption Establishment sought help from the capital police to arrest Qaiser related to a corruption case involving the purchase of medical equipment for a school in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. After the arrest, Qaiser was taken to an undisclosed location for further legal proceedings.
