Humane, a secretive startup, has developed a new gadget called the Ai Pin. This device is a wearable device, projector, and more, and it may cost up to $1,000 with a monthly data subscription. The device was showcased by co-founder Imran Chaudhri during a TED presentation. It was demonstrated that the Ai Pin can answer phone calls, provide information, translate sentences, and even offer opinions. The Ai Pin is a small device that can be attached to clothing and features a camera, microphone, speaker, sensors, and a laser projector. It utilizes a Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm to offer smartphone-like capabilities and plans to sell cellular data to customers. The AI features of the Ai Pin will be powered by a proprietary large-language model. Humane is aiming to create a paradigm shift in consumer computing, but there are still many unknowns about the device and the company’s future. More information about the Ai Pin will be shared on November 9th.
