Foxconn, the largest supplier of iPhones for Apple, is facing tax audits at some of its subsidiaries in China. The audits are being conducted because there are suspicions that Foxconn has violated laws and regulations. Additionally, investigations have been carried out by China’s natural resources department to examine the land use of Foxconn in Henan and Hubei provinces. The exact details and timing of these investigations have not been disclosed. Foxconn has yet to respond to these reports. According to Zhang Wensheng, an expert at the Taiwan Research Institute of Xiamen University, these audits and investigations are a normal procedure when there are suspicions of law violations. Zhang emphasized that Foxconn’s subsidiaries should cooperate with the authorities and take responsibility if any mistakes are found.
