Ford has announced a new trim for its 2024 F-150 Lightning electric truck called the “Flash.” The Flash trim will come with a larger screen, a longer range of 320 miles, and a heat pump to improve battery conditioning in cold weather. This new trim is aimed at addressing customer concerns and offering features found in more expensive models at a lower price. The Flash model will cost $69,995 and will be positioned above the XLT in the lineup. Ford hopes that the Flash trim, along with the reopening of its Rogue Electric Vehicle Center, will improve the flow of F-150 Lightning deliveries to customers. The company had faced supply constraints due to a factory shutdown. The introduction of the Flash trim indicates Ford’s efforts to boost sales and profitability in its EV business, which is projected to lose $4.5 billion in 2023.
