The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered that former Prime Minister Imran Khan be transferred from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail. This decision comes during the hearing of Imran Khan’s bail plea in a case related to the alleged misuse of diplomatic information. Imran Khan is currently imprisoned in Attock Jail, and the hearing for his bail plea was scheduled for Monday. The bail plea was filed by Imran Khan’s counsel, Salman Safdar, on September 16. Imran Khan had previously filed a petition with the IHC seeking better jail facilities and a transfer to Adiala Jail. The case against Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi is based on the Official Secrets Act, and they are accused of communicating classified information to unauthorized individuals for personal gains. The special court hearing their case had rejected their post-arrest bail applications. Earlier this week, the special court granted Imran Khan permission to meet his legal team and doctor in Attock Jail. The IHC had previously sought responses from the federal and Punjab governments regarding Imran Khan’s petition for a transfer.
