Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani has urged the interim Afghan government to take action against the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as their attacks are causing tensions between the two countries. He expressed concern that attacks inside Pakistan continue to come from Afghanistan. Jilani wants the Afghan authorities to fulfill their commitments to Pakistan and other countries by not allowing Afghan soil to be used against them. He mentioned that terrorist groups such as TTP and ISIS-K based in Afghanistan are a concern for Pakistan and the region. The FM also discussed Pakistan’s economy, rising fuel prices, foreign investment, the Russia-Ukraine war, UN reforms, India’s violations of UN resolutions, and the caretaker government in Pakistan. He expressed hope for economic and political stability in Pakistan through government reforms and collaborations with Gulf States. Jilani emphasized the need to settle the Russia-Ukraine conflict through peaceful negotiations and called for the implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir. He clarified that the caretaker government’s main task is to hold free and fair elections as required by the constitution.
