The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has sealed Awami Muslim League (AML) Chairman Sheikh Rashid’s Lal Haveli residence in Rawalpindi once again. This comes after the ETPB declared Rashid’s takeover of Lal Haveli and six other units as illegal last year. Today, the building was sealed without any resistance. Rashid filed a petition in the Lahore High Court, requesting the authorities to restrain from sealing his property. This action follows Rashid’s recent arrest from his private residence in Rawalpindi. This is not the first time Lal Haveli has been sealed, as the ETPB previously sealed it in January this year due to “illegal occupation.” ETPB Deputy Commissioner Asif Khan stated that they had issued several notices to Rashid and his brother, but they failed to provide any authentic documents or records.
