The Lahore High Court has given the Punjab police chief a final chance to find missing anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan by September 26. Imran Riaz, a YouTuber and TV anchor, was arrested two days after violent protests broke out following the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan on May 9. He was last seen at Cantt police station and later taken to Sialkot prison. It was reported on May 15 that he was released from jail, but his whereabouts remain unknown. The anchorperson’s father filed a plea for his recovery, and an FIR was registered against unidentified persons and police officials. In previous hearings, the Punjab Inspector General assured the court that the investigation was making progress. However, in the latest hearing, the court expressed impatience with the lack of results. The Punjab IG requested more time until the next week, and the court granted him time until September 26. The court warned that legal action would be taken if Imran Riaz is not produced. The hearing also revealed that meetings were ongoing to discuss the case. The next meeting will be held on September 22. The Punjab IG was given a last opportunity to recover the missing anchorperson, and the hearing was adjourned until September 26.
