PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif shared his excitement during an online meeting with party ticket holders about his planned return to Pakistan on October 21st. The meeting was attended by various PML-N leaders and party members. Mr. Sharif expressed happiness about returning to the country and received solidarity from the participants.
During the meeting, Mr. Sharif criticized the military and judicial establishment of 2017, blaming them for his removal from power. He mentioned that the former army chief and spymaster were behind his ouster. Mr. Sharif vowed to hold them accountable for their actions.
He also defended the PML-N’s decision to take over the government for 16 months after removing PTI leader Imran Khan through a no-confidence motion. Mr. Sharif claimed that the PDM (an alliance of opposition parties) saved the country from defaulting and prevented an increase in petrol prices.
The PML-N leadership requested the participants to gather a large number of people at the Lahore airport to welcome Nawaz Sharif on his return. They also established a central control center to facilitate his homecoming.
Other PML-N leaders, including Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Shehbaz, Ahsan Iqbal, and Rana Sanaullah, also spoke during the meeting, expressing their support for Nawaz Sharif and their determination to overcome challenges faced by the country.
