Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari stated that neither he nor the establishment has the authority to announce the date for the next general elections. Only the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has the right to do so. This comes after Bilawal demanded the immediate announcement of the election date. He highlighted that the current caretaker government has limited powers, particularly in foreign affairs, and requested the ECP to provide a date and schedule for the election. Bilawal mentioned that the topic of forming alliances with other political parties can only be considered once the election date is announced. He also emphasized that once the schedule is set, the party can begin its campaign. Additionally, Bilawal expressed that the PPP will welcome Nawaz Sharif when he returns to Pakistan, as announced by his brother Shehbaz Sharif.
