Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has left for New York to represent Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). This will be the first time an interim prime minister will represent Pakistan at the UN. During his visit, PM Kakar will attend the UNGA session, meet with global leaders, and participate in a conference on climate change. He will also interact with the international media and visit US think tanks. Interim Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani has also arrived in New York. It was previously announced that PM Kakar will participate in the SDG summit, where he will speak about mobilizing finance for sustainable development goals. He will also give a keynote speech at a summit on financing for development, focusing on mobilizing private sector finance. In his address to the General Assembly, PM Kakar is expected to highlight Pakistan’s efforts to achieve the SDGs.
