The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has expressed dissatisfaction with the response to its complaints about an ‘unlevel’ playing field in the upcoming elections. The party has empowered former president Asif Ali Zardari to raise the issue with all concerned parties and demand that the Election Commission announce the election schedule immediately. During a press conference, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari stated that the party had presented their reservations to Zardari and that he would raise the issue with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and other concerned parties. Bhutto-Zardari also expressed confidence in his party’s ability to face any difficulties or oppression, and emphasized their readiness to go to the people. The PPP has demanded that the Election Commission announce the election schedule, as this would allow political parties to formulate their strategies. The party’s manifesto committee has been directed to focus on the working class, women, and youth. Bhutto-Zardari also addressed questions about political dialogue with the PTI, stating that the PPP is open to negotiations with non-militant entities. He further discussed spending time in Punjab, clarified the party’s stance on the recent Supreme Court verdict on NAB laws’ amendments, and presented resolutions passed by the central executive committee regarding the country’s economic situation, rising prices, and minority rights.
