Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Parvez Elahi has been arrested as he was being released from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. He will be taken to the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) headquarters in Lahore. This comes after an anti-terrorism court approved his bail in a case relating to an attack on the judicial complex. The case is about Elahi and other PTI leaders being booked for their alleged attack on policemen outside the Federal Judicial Complex in Islamabad. Elahi has been arrested multiple times since June in various cases. He was rearrested after the Islamabad High Court suspended his detention and ordered his release. The Lahore High Court also ordered his release in a corruption case. However, he was arrested again by the Islamabad police on his way home. In June, he was arrested on allegations of taking bribes as the speaker of the provincial assembly. He was discharged the next day but was arrested again in a similar case. Later, he was detained under the MPO for 30 days following a request from Lahore police.
