PML-N chief organizer Maryam Nawaz Sharif has asked party ticket holders in Punjab to bring as many people as possible to welcome her father, Nawaz Sharif, who is set to arrive in Lahore from London on October 21. At a meeting with party members, Maryam emphasized the importance of giving a historic welcome to her father, who is returning after four years of self-imposed exile. The participants, who are aspiring for party tickets, expressed their excitement and hopes that the homecoming date would not change. This is the first time that the party president, Shehbaz Sharif, has officially announced his brother’s return. The party aims to gather over 200,000 people at the Lahore airport to welcome Nawaz Sharif. However, during Maryam’s return earlier this year, the party struggled to attract a large crowd. Maryam declared that her father would be the candidate for the prime minister’s position and urged people to give him a two-thirds majority in the election. She highlighted her father’s track record of meeting people’s expectations and his ability to overcome economic challenges such as price hikes and unemployment. Interestingly, Maryam spoke of reconciliation and the need for unity and peace, rather than seeking vengeance against political opponents.
