Pakistan has won the toss and chosen to bat in a crucial match against Sri Lanka, which is starting late due to heavy rain. The Sri Lankan captain would have chosen to bowl first anyway because of the field conditions. The match has been shortened by five overs and the power play is now nine overs. The weather forecast predicts a 93% chance of rain and a 56% chance of thunderstorms during the day. If the match is rained out, it would end Pakistan’s Asia Cup campaign and send Sri Lanka to the final. Injuries to Pakistani bowlers Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf have led to them being ruled out of the match. Zaman Khan has been brought in as a replacement. Pakistani bowling coach Morne Morkel sees this as a great opportunity for the new players to step up. The Pakistan team lineup for the match includes Mohammad Haris, Imam ul Haq, Babar Azam (captain), Mohammad Rizwan, Saud Shakeel, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Wasim Jr, and Zaman Khan.
