Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar spoke at the inauguration of a cardiology hospital in Gilgit. He stated that a small group of people will not be allowed to disrupt the law and order situation in Gilgit-Baltistan. He emphasized that it is the responsibility of the state to enforce the rights of its citizens and ensure their safety. Kakar also mentioned that no foreign organization is permitted to interfere in the country’s affairs. He reassured that the government is working towards developing the region’s economic potential in sectors such as tourism, mining, and power generation. Improving road infrastructure is also a priority. Earlier, Kakar visited various departments of the hospital and learned about the medical facilities available. The hospital is expected to be fully functional by June 2024. During his visit, Kakar discussed development projects and the security situation in Gilgit-Baltistan. He was briefed on progress in sectors such as information technology, health, and education, and steps being taken to address issues in the education sector.
