The Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), which is the largest hydrocarbon exploration company in the country, has started producing hydrocarbons from a new well called Nashpa-11. OGDCL made this announcement in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange. The well was successfully tested, completed, and brought into production. OGDCL drilled the well to a depth of 4,485 meters, targeting the hydrocarbon potential within certain formations. Currently, the well is producing 830 barrels per day (BPD) of oil and 1.0 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas. The well has been connected to the OGDCL Nashpa plant through a flow line, and the gas is being injected into the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited network. The Nashpa well is located in the Nashpa Block, which spans Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. OGDCL is the operator of this venture with a 56.45% stake, along with Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and Government Holding Private Limited (GHPL) as partners. OGDCL is focused on optimizing production and has previously achieved impressive results at the Siab-1 well, where it operates with a 97.5% stake and has significantly increased production.
