Seoul Fashion Week (SFW) recently held its 2024 spring-summer shows, featuring 30 local brands. This year, SFW shifted its schedule to March and September to attract global buyers and showcase Seoul’s unique fashion. Many Korean brands at SFW focused on sustainable fashion, using recycled materials and promoting ethical production. PARTsPARTs, a womenswear brand, showcased classic and practical pieces using neoprene, a material that reduces waste. Saint Mill, another brand, used specially manufactured fabrics made from discarded plastic bottles, fishing nets, and air pollution to create sustainable fashion. Vegan Tiger, Korea’s first vegan fashion brand, continued to bring its kitschy and mix-and-match style using cruelty-free materials. The spring-summer collections at SFW featured patterns and prints, particularly on flowy materials like chiffon and ruffles. Maison Nica, LIE, and Kwak Hyun Joo Collection showcased avant-garde silhouettes with bold patterns. SFW also attracted overseas buyers from 27 countries to discover the latest trends and unique patterns from Korean designers.
