Muhammad Salim Rajput, a Grade 20 officer in the Pakistan Administrative Service, has taken charge as the Commissioner of Karachi. Before this role, he was the Secretary of the Department of Transport and Mass Transit. Rajput has a degree from both domestic and foreign universities. He studied Public Policy at the London School of Economics and obtained an MSc in Management and Governance. He has held various positions in the government, including Secretary Services and General Administration, Special Secretary Finance in the Government of Sindh, and Secretary Finance in the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan. Rajput has also served as the Deputy Commissioner in Karachi, Hyderabad, and Khairpur, as well as the Deputy Commissioner in the district south of Karachi. Additionally, he worked as the EDO Finance in Badin and as the Additional Secretary Chief Minister of Sindh. Alongside his duties as Commissioner, Rajput and his team will provide assistance and support to the Election Commission to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of elections in the Karachi Division.
