Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP), the maker of Ski-Doo and Sea-Doo vehicles, reported a 14% increase in year-over-year revenue during its second quarter. This growth was driven by improving retail trends in North America and helped the company overcome supply chain difficulties. BRP’s second-quarter revenue reached a record of almost $2.8 billion, with a profit of $338.7 million, up from $237.7 million the previous year. CEO José Boisjoli attributed this success to solid consumer demand, outpacing the industry with 41% retail growth and increasing market share. Strong deliveries, supply chain improvements, and the inflationary environment contributed to BRP’s performance. The company faced challenges in the previous fiscal year, including a cyberattack and production issues. While revenue in the marine sector decreased due to logistical issues and poor weather, customers are financially healthier this year. BRP is known for its pursuit of novelty and innovation and recently launched the Can-Am Maverick R, its most expensive off-road vehicle to date. The company also plans to include Apple Carplay in all Can-Am Spyder models. BRP aims to expand its business by entering untapped categories and recently acquired a majority stake in German company Pinion GmbH.
