Billionaires Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk are trading online jabs at each other. Zuckerberg, the founder of Meta (formerly known as Facebook), accused Musk, the owner of X (formerly known as Twitter), of not taking their proposed charity cage match seriously. Zuckerberg claimed that Musk refused to confirm a date, said he needed surgery, and suggested doing a practice round in Zuckerberg’s backyard instead. Musk responded by calling Zuckerberg a chicken and said he would go to Silicon Valley to confront him. When a user suggested that Zuckerberg was getting cold feet, Musk made a joke about a popular fast food chain known for its chicken. The two billionaires have been going back and forth on social media about the fight, with Musk announcing that it would take place in Italy. Zuckerberg posted a photo of himself shirtless and ready to fight, but said that until Musk agrees on a date, nothing has been confirmed. Italian authorities confirmed talks about hosting the charity event, but said it would not be held in Rome. Both tech titans have recently become direct competitors with the launch of Meta’s Threads platform. Musk mentioned that he may need minor surgery for a shoulder problem, but it will not affect his participation in the match.
