Johor will host the Asia Pacific Climate Week (APCW) in September 2023. This is a conference where 2,000 delegates from 150 countries will discuss green initiatives and strategies to address climate change. The selection of Johor as the host demonstrates the state government’s commitment to the green agenda. They will present a framework for green agreements during the conference. The aim is to ensure that Johor is prepared for future global climate change and can implement planned green initiatives. The Chief Minister of Johor expressed pride in being chosen as the host for the first time and stated that they will share their experience in overcoming floods in the state as a case study. The conference will promote dialogue and collaboration among government agencies, businesses, communities, and academia to find the best solutions for climate challenges in each region. Johor was chosen over other locations due to the state government’s commitment to green efforts.
