The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered the Attock Jail administration to provide former Prime Minister Imran Khan with proper medical care. They have also instructed that he be given a prayer mat, an English version of the Holy Quran, and allowed visits from his family and friends. Imran Khan is currently in Attock Jail after being arrested on August 5. He was arrested following a court decision that disqualified him from politics for five years and sentenced him to three years in prison in the Toshakhana criminal case. The court found him guilty of corrupt practices. Imran Khan’s lawyer has filed a petition with the IHC requesting A-Class jail facilities and to declare his detention in Attock Jail as illegal. The petition also asks for him to be transferred to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. Additionally, the IHC has summoned the Toshakhana case record and issued a notice to the district election commissioner of Islamabad.
