Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially opened the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP), which is a collaboration between the government, international companies, and the private sector. The project was initiated by the Pakistan Air Force and is related to the Special Investment Facilitation Council. The CEO of NASTP, Air Commodore Dr Liaquatullah, explained that the PAF has made significant advancements in aerospace technology and has established research and development centers for the next generation. The project consists of three campuses: one for private sector companies, one for cyber, AI, and IT companies, and one for aircraft, space, sensors, and an Expo center. The NASTP has been designated as a special zone and will benefit from subsidies, tax and customs duty exemptions, as well as networking opportunities. The Air Chief has also directed the launch of a second phase to establish similar facilities in the city and universities. This project is essential for Pakistan’s self-reliance in aerospace technology and is aligned with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
