The Supreme Court is currently reviewing petitions that question whether civilians should be tried in military courts. The bench includes Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial and five other judges. A petition requesting the formation of a full court to hear these petitions was dismissed by the bench yesterday. The Chief Justice explained that a full court was not available until September. Some judges on the bench were on vacation but returned specifically for this case. The Chief Justice emphasized the need for a time limit on the case. Additionally, there are other judges waiting to be relieved from their duties but are unable to do so because of this case. As a result, a full court will not be available until the second week of September.
