Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has once again apologized for his remarks against a female judge last year. He claims that he made those comments in the heat of the moment. This apology comes months after he personally visited Judge Zeba Chaudhry’s court to apologize. However, he was unable to deliver his message because she was on leave. Khan made these remarks during a public rally in Islamabad, where he threatened action against the judge and senior police officials for arresting his top aide.
During a recent court hearing, Khan reiterated that he has always been a law-abiding citizen and has never violated the law. Meanwhile, an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad extended Khan’s bail in three cases related to violence outside the Federal Judicial Complex and the Islamabad High Court. These cases were filed after Khan allegedly led mobs during hearings.
In addition, Khan challenged a civil court order in the Islamabad High Court. The order sought action against him and his wife for contracting marriage during the wife’s iddat period. Khan’s lawyer argued that he has been wrongly implicated in the case and requested withdrawal of the bail plea if there is no evidence against him. The judge granted bail in the three cases until July 26.
Khan also challenged a criminal complaint against him for allegedly concealing details of Toshakhana gifts in the High Court. His lawyer argued that the sessions court rushed its verdict without allowing the legal team to present their case. The judge reserved his ruling on this plea.
Moreover, Khan challenged a civil court order regarding a complaint against him and his wife for contracting marriage during the iddat period. He stated that the complaint was not filed in accordance with the law and requested its dismissal.
