South Korean battery materials makers are expected to dominate the separator film production market in North America and Europe by 2030. SK IE Technology, affiliated with SK Group, is projected to control the largest market share of 33%, followed by WCP with 29% and Asahi Kasei with 16%. LG Chem is expected to take up 13% of the market share. Chinese companies are estimated to have less than 10% market share due to US regulations. The report highlights the need for Korean companies to enter the growing electric vehicle (EV) battery materials market in North America, as EVs are expected to account for 60% of the North American automotive industry by 2030. The report also states that US and European regulations make it necessary for global companies to produce battery separator films within those regions. Overall, Korean companies that are actively expanding in these regions are likely to lead the global battery materials market.
