The Mobile World Congress Shanghai, the largest mobile communications industry trade show in Asia, has resumed as an in-person event after a two-year pause due to COVID-19 restrictions in China. The event is taking place in Shanghai and focuses on three main areas: 5G transformation, the Internet of Things, and augmented reality. The GSMA, the organizer of the event, is pleased to bring back the offline event following the success of its flagship trade show in Barcelona. China aims to accelerate the growth of 5G communication and has invested heavily in telecommunications infrastructure. The event features keynotes from industry leaders and showcases the latest mobile communication applications and products. While Chinese telecom firms dominate the event, South Korean mobile carriers and Samsung have limited presence this year. The Asia Mobile Awards will also be held during the event to recognize achievements in the digital industry.
