The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has requested the details of vehicle purchases and sales in the name of 22 members of former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan’s cabinet as part of its investigation into the Al Qadir Trust case. The investigation alleges that Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, received billions of rupees and land for the legalisation of Rs50 billion, which was identified and returned to Pakistan by the UK during the previous government. NAB has asked the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department to provide details of these purchases and sales dating from January 2018 until now. The bureau is investigating the people concerned on allegations of corruption and corrupt practices. Last month, Imran Khan was briefly arrested in relation to the case. The former prime minister has since been granted bail until 19 June. Bushra Bibi is due to attend a NAB investigation into the case on 7 June.
