Will the Xgimi MoGo 2 Pro Android TV projector provide endless entertainment or is there something more sinister lurking behind its automatic features?

The MoGo 2 Pro smart projector from Xgimi doubles as a Bluetooth speaker and runs Android TV version 11.0 to stream videos over fast Wi-Fi. The device, which weighs 1.1kg and measures 161 x 119 x 108mm, is easy to set up and uses a built-in time-of-flight sensor to find a flat, obstacle-free surface to project the image onto. The keystone is then automatically corrected to create a properly aligned rectangle. The device has no built-in controls but can be powered from a USB-C power bank and starts in less than five seconds from standby. It can be set to automatically adjust the keystone every time it is moved. The projected image is modest, with a maximum output of 400 ANSI lumens, and HDR10 is supported but has little effect on the viewing experience. The device can still be powered from an external battery, but the battery must be bought separately. The MoGo 2 Pro is available for $599 and undercuts Samsung’s Freestyle portable projector by almost $300.
