Will Imran be able to prove his innocence as the IHC grants him bail for only two weeks in the Al-Qadir Trust case?

Imran Khan, the Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party and former Prime Minister of Pakistan, has been granted bail by a division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the Al-Qadir Trust case. Khan had been arrested from the IHC premises prior to his appearance in the case earlier this week. His lawyers had filed four additional pleas to club together cases against him and to direct authorities to provide details. The Supreme Court ruled the arrest ‘unlawful’, and granted Khan two-week bail. However, PTI lawyer Babar Awan claims that there are new charges being brought against Khan and said that the Punjab police had been contacted to arrest him. Lawyers shouted in solidarity with the PTI chief outside the court, and Khan was taken for biometrics. His bail plea will be next heard on 2 June.
