The annual Swiss-Korean Innovation Week has started in Seoul, showcasing emerging technologies such as quantum technology, artificial intelligence, ESG, advanced manufacturing, and the metaverse. The event creates an innovative environment through exhibitions, seminars, and workshops to discuss the age of quantum technology. It features an exhibition called “Travel Across Boundaries,” highlighting metaverse use in research for society’s benefit. Visitors can observe wildlife in the Demilitarized Zone at the exhibition thanks to the use of AI technology. The event is significant because experts from Korea and Switzerland are meeting to discuss quantum technology for the first time since President Yoon Suk Yeol’s visit to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich) in January. More events will be held for institutional and personal exchanges. Several speakers from Switzerland and Korea will participate, including Andreas Wallraff, director of the quantum center at ETH Zurich. The events will run until May 23. The embassy will hold many events throughout 2023 to showcase the diversity of Korea-Switzerland relations and strengthen longstanding relationships under the slogan “A Place Where Innovation Blooms.”
